New Board member appointed

We are pleased to announce the appointment of a new psychologist member to the RMA Board.

The new psychologist member is:

Dr Joanne Wood - Dr Wood is a Chartered Forensic Psychologist for Greater Manchester Probation Trust. Her clinical work centres on the assessment and management of risk posed by sexual and violent offenders supervised under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA). Her PhD focussed on this offender group, identifying risk typologies and exploring some of the barriers to multi-agency working which may impact on MAPPA effectiveness. Dr Wood's findings helped inform parts of the MAPPA Guidance for England and Wales (2009) and she has published her findings in several peer reviewed journals.

Dr Wood holds no other Ministerial appointments.

This appointment runs from 1 August 2010 and ends on 31 July 2015.

This Ministerial public appointment was made in accordance with the Commissioner for Public Appointments in Scotland's Code of Practice.
